Hosting and server logs

Cloudflare, Inc. delivers this site. Every visit reaches Cloudflare’s network, which processes the connection data that answering a request technically requires: your IP address, the time of the request, the address requested, the page you came from if your browser sends it, and your browser’s user agent.

The purpose is to deliver the pages and to keep the service available and secure. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare processes this data as a processor on my behalf under Article 28 GDPR.

There is nothing to fill in and nothing to submit: the data arises when your browser requests a page.

Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer rests on the EU standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare’s data processing addendum.

How long data is kept

Cloudflare keeps request data only as long as it needs it to deliver the site and to detect and defend against attacks, then deletes or anonymises it. I keep no visitor data of my own.

Your rights

You have the right to information about the data processed about you (Article 15 GDPR), to rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may object to processing that rests on a legitimate interest (Article 21). A message to hello@screensbyside.com is enough.

You may also complain to a supervisory authority. The one responsible for me is the Sächsische Datenschutzbeauftragte.

Automated decisions

No automated decision-making and no profiling take place.

Changes to this notice

This notice describes the site as it is. If the site changes in a way that affects data processing, I update this notice and the date below.
